Last Thursday, while visiting my ancestral home along the Wabash River in Indiana, I met up with Big Honkers for a little afternoon crow shoot. As my big sister chauffeured me up to the riverside blind that Jason built for us, a single shot rings out and a very dead crow lands within 15 feet of her Toyota. Jason, ever the professional, knows how to greet a fellow crow man in the bush!
Because of the state regulations where we were hunting, we had to use steel shot. The Winchester Expert Steel Shotshells with size 7 shot at 1335 FPS, was certainly deadly and we observed no "walkers" in the 34 crows we dropped in 90 minutes or so.
It is always fun to hunt with BH and I appreciate his hospitality in building a fine blind of natural river driftwood and putting me in the "king" suite!
GB: You had me going there for a moment..."I appreciate his hospitality in building a fine blind of natural river driftwood and putting me ON it!! Whew... I had to re-read..and see he said IN it. I feared you were in "the river of no return"!! Dropping 30 among friends.. is certainly time well spent. Merry Christmas to you and BH...
