Well I did it!!!! My CS-24 is dead. I was crossing a ditch of knee deep water and tipped my sled. It filled with water and the water proof bag that my fox pro was in was not water proof' It got submerged. I took it apart and it is in the drying process now. I will know in the morning if she is gonna work again. The only thing I know for sure is that it will be dry as a bone when I put it back together and turn it on. Anybody had the same thing happen??? Will I be sending it to fox pro, and will they get in my pockets very deep???. The remote is fine it stayed dry. How much trouble am I in??????????
I seem to recall someone else have a "moisture issue" with a fox pro and it seem that they had a great experence with customer service. Wish I could remember who it was or even when it was.
Good luck

If it's still under warranty, I believe they will fix it no questions asked. When my Spitfire (under warranty) stopped working, I admitted to being stupid and applying too much force to the tiny slot where the microchip went. i.e., I broke it. The technician said, "Send it in." I did, and they sent it back--no charge. Similarly, my remote's display began to go wacky and I sent it in after the technician attempted to help via the phone. Once again, repaired and no charge. Can't beat that great FoxPro service!
If it's not under warranty, don't know. However you'll still get the great service.

I had an issue with my remote last year, It got wet when hunting in the rain, and it shorted out bad........I called, explained the situation, and told them I needed it in 3 or 4 days. I actually drove to their shop (only 40 minutes away) and they fixed it immediately while I waited.......they told me that if it got wet, they would fix it, but the charges would be minimal......however when they opened it up, they couldn't find any water damage that they were 100% sure of, so they repaired it for me for free.........they have excellent customer service, and I am sure that they will be able to fix it for a very reasonable cost if need be.......

Thanks Buckshot,
That is the story I was thinking of just couldn't remember all the details.

Well after 27 hours in front of a forced air heater in 4 parts, I screwed her back together and she is screamin like an air horn!!!!! Man am I relieved. I have babied that thing for two seasons. I'm gonna take it out this eve and field test it, but as far as I can tell it is working fine. What I did was as follows. 1. I came straight home from the field 2. I borrowed a heater from the guy I hunted with and set it up in the basement 3. I took the 24 apart, cone, shroud, and back of unit to expose the circuit board 4. I placed it directly in front of the heater and rotated all 4 parts every 2 hours around the clock. 5. Put the unit back together, Added 10 batteries and she worked just fine. Daddy was happy!!!! Im sure it would have been a different story with the remote, but it stayed dry!!! I may cross the same ditch today to hunt but I will rent a Blackhawk to fly it across then hunt!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now that is dry is the potential for corrosion a greater possibility? Just wondering if something should be done to prevent that as much as possible.
I forgot to mention this previously, but your story sounds exactly like the (one) time I dropped my cell phone into the mug as I was bending over to do the obligatory lid-lifting protocol here at home. Fortunately it was at the start of the ceremony instead of the end. It was in the ("doggie") drink perhaps 0.561 seconds before I rescued it (seldom have I ever moved so fast) and then went through basically the same procedure you describe; dissassembly then the hair dryer on gentle for a half hour. Works fine a couple of months later. Result: Whether or not I have my phone in my upper left pocket, I now unconsciously grab that area to secure it.
NHCS:
Since I could not examine the innards of my much smaller electronic device except for removing the battery, I could not tell whether or not there were any parts subject to corrosion. Could have been worse.

I had a phone in my pants pocket a couple of years ago that was put in the washer, I retrieved it before the washer got full of water and let it drip dry for an hour or so then put it in a bag or rice, It never did work afterwards. My son bought a new phone the is near indestructible, the type the military use. It can be submurged under water, be driven over by a pickup and a few other things that will destry a regular cell phone. He droped it last sumer and it got run over by a dumptruck which was to much for the phone.

If it won't submerged for hours on end, it should be no problem, just as long as you allow it to dry properly (us a hair dryer and no heat to ensure moisture is driven from under the chips) it should work properly again. I've had it happen with mobile phones and no problems, even had it happen to a laptop computer. Apart from water staining on the indide of the screen it worked perfectly after drying

When I'm not out hunting I store my caller in a 5 gallon bucket that has a lid. In the bottom of the bucket is about 3 inches of new kitty litter. After a couple weeks I use this kitty litter in the cat pan and put fresh in the caller bucket. That way, any moisture that might be present gets absorbed by the litter. Sort of like those little desiccant packs that come in new boxes/packages.
It works great unless you get it backwards and move the litter from the cat pan to the caller bucket..................
