Went out sunday morning got out just before daylight. Got laid up in a ditch under some elder trees and around 100 yards from the river,got brushed in with some tall yellow grass which seemed pretty effective.
we were setup to the right hand side of this picture in about an 80 yd row of trees.
To the left of the picture is where the river is and the crow fly off that hillside to our tree line
It was a pretty good hunt for me. As ive told many of you before weve seen less birds this year than probably the last 10. We only called in around 15 maybe 20 and only 3 got in tight enough for a shot. So we got three now to most of you thats not a real good day but for me i was pretty happy
NMB: What a beautiful view over that field. My bet as to why more birds did not come into range... you might have needed to be hidden better. Do not know that for sure, but so often that is the case when birds shy at the last minute. Keep your reports coming. Bagging 3 is way better than none!!
Yea its quite a view and a great place for sure.We tried to brush up well but with the tall hills its tough to get them to come low. Ted SE ohio and only one with permission to hunt 110acre its even better yet!... And we havent even discussed the rabbit hunting there ;)
