I sent a letter to David Price, who supposedly represents me in Congress, urging him not to drink the Obama/Biden gun control Kool-Aid, the day that Obama announced his 23 executive orders.
This is his reply:
Dear Mr. Cawley:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the recent mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The senseless violence and loss of life at Sandy Hook has taken an unimaginable toll on the families of the victims, the Newtown community, and the nation as a whole. This is a time of national mourning, as well as a time for serious soul-searching and reflection.
I have been a consistent supporter of the ability of law-abiding citizens to own and use guns for self-protection, hunting, and sporting purposes, while supporting reasonable measures to keep guns away from individuals who use them to threaten or harm other people. The Newtown tragedy is the most recent reminder that our laws are failing in that regard.
This tragedy is also a reminder that we must address the way in which we treat mental illness in this country. For too long those suffering from these disorders have been stigmatized and isolated from society. The support and treatment we need to offer are currently being compromised, in North Carolina and elsewhere, by misguided budget priorities. We must do better, especially in reaching out to troubled young people.
I refuse to believe that these issues are too complicated or politically divisive to be addressed comprehensively and conclusively. Should the House consider legislation on gun access, school safety, or related mental health issues, I will consider it carefully, keeping your concerns in mind.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please continue to be in touch about issues of concern.
Sincerely, DAVID PRICE
DAVID PRICE Member of Congress
DEP:lk
and btw I did NOT contact him about Sandy Hook, I contacted him about the usurpation of our 2nd Amendment rights by the 23 executive orders.
I receive the same "boilerplate" responses from my semi-RINO US representative. My two US Senators, as flaming leftists, (Levin and Stabenow) are beyond hope, but I still write and receive the same drivel in return.
On the other hand, my state rep. and senator are both on the right side. They get it. Too bad we have a RINO Gov.

Ruger had a email going around that you send them your information and they would forward a pro gun letter to all of your representitives, Local, State & Federal. I recieved one reply from Maria Cantwell, WA. state Senetor, A one size fits all reply. I personally cally my state congressman's (Rick Lawsen) local office and about got in a pissing match with the secretary about tthe assult rifle & high capacity magazines. I don't have one and probably never will, but I should be able to own one it I want to. All these polls they print in the paper are all one sided. In todays paper they have an artical stateing the sixty percent of the American People agree with letting Illegal Immigrants becoming legal citizens. Ninty percent of the people I know and talk to are against letting them stay. But that's besides the point here. If they do call you for a poll and you don't agree with their agenda, it's short & ended and not counted. Just my opinion.

We don't have a gun problem,we have a social disease! All kids watch is these "WACKY VIDEO" games, they should put an age limit on acess to it like they do "PORN"!!!!!!!!!
In Europe and the UK they did this, and what happens ?
The parents go and buy it for them. They should start putting parents in prison for it and that would finally stop it. They've had kids of 6 playing video games and watching movies that have an 18+ rating on them, and the parents say this isn't a problem. But when the kids then go on to commit crimes they say its nothing to do with the way they raised them ?

Blaming violent video games for the issues that are happening is more of a cop-out than anything. Its not the video games that are causing the problem, they are just also present and blamed when really its the parents not taking an interest in their children, not knowing their children, and causing their children to do worse in school, having more social problems, and are more mentally unstable. I think these video games are an easy scape-goat when really its a much more family oriented problem. Its like saying that cities with more stop lights have more crime, so the stop lights must be causing the crime. When really its just that larger cities have more stoplights and more crime with no relation between them.
Kids used to be around guns all the time, shoot all the time, and hunt because it was a necessity and all of this killing of animals (in REAL LIFE) didn't cause the same problems because the parents were a greater influence on the kids.
Yep, it IS the parents, not taking responsibility or interest in their kids, and giving them anything they want just to stop them nagging. Parents have forgotten the word NO.

Could not agree more!
Look after your children (and their friens), spend time with them, teach them responsibility, discipline and respect and they'll turn out fine.
Neglect them, and you're in a world of sorrow!
