Well, after poachers running round on a quad last night, and leaving some gates open, whereupon sheep got out again, the farmer has said next time hold, block the lane, call plod, and have them done for armed trespass. That means they will lose their FAC, their guns, their quad, and will probably be looking at time behind bars too. Bloody idiots. If they asked me and the farmer, and didnt run everywhere on a quad, and didn't leave gates open, we would have probably have them shoot no problem (i have let a fair few shoot here). Now they've just buggered it up for everyone, as I won't let anyone, except a select few friends, shoot my permissions now Bloody idiots, spoilt it for themselves and everyone else now. I asked all the farmers, and NONE of them had given anyone permission. Nope, I won't be marching them anywhere, I will just hold them until plod arrives. Plod already said I can use any means reasonable to protect life property and possessions, and that includes blocking the lane, especially when they are armed. That's the first thing I did, BEFORE I even went out, was to phone the farmers and ask, as none had asked me, but as soon as they saw me they were off like scalded cats, so they KNEW they were trespassing. And armed trespass carries FIVE YEARS imprisonment, plus loss of quad, guns, FAC, and probably any job they have too. If they can provide WRITTEN permission, or a phone number to the farmer (they were doing all the roads and lanes and fields of ALL the farms), then they can go on their way. its bloody annoying, in the last 2 months I've had 15 donkeys, 200 sheep, numerous cattle, all escaped and running around roads at night, just asking for an accident because these buggers leave gates open. And now another 9 sheep this morning

While your whole situation stinks, the above comment really hit home with me.
I have been denied access a good number of times because of the actions of others. These landowners generally dont care about me hunting crows, they are just hesitant to allow anyone except close friends and family on their property because they have had problems in the past.
....generally from deer hunters I might add...
Those that do not realize the implications of their actions need to be punched.....or thrown into a chipper. Your choice.
Redditch It really sucks when a few dumb asses feel they can go anywhere and do any thing they please. When I lived in New York I had lots of plaesto go hunt on, When I get back there in the fall for hunting some of the properties are off limits because of people showing up with way to mny peeople in the hunting party, leaving garbage where they park & go back to have lunch. Parking in the fields and tearing it up, driving threw the fields just before & after dark looking for an easy shot at a deer. Plus other crap that they do. Plus several of the land owners are leasing their hunting & fishing rights to groups to pay the taxes & put a few bucks in their pocket. I know a few land owners who have groups of eight people, no invites. They each pay $500 X 8 = $4,000.
BH If you ever want to send anyone or anything through a wood-chiper it isa lot cleaner if they are frozen solid! Years ago we were heading back to the house with the dump truck & chipper, someone hit a deer & killed it. We pulled over & fired up the chipper and fed the deer in, WHAT A MESS! About a month later it was bitter ass cold and we were heading back to the house with the dump truck & chipper, we come acrossanother deer that was killed by a car and it was frozen solid.We fed it through the chipper and there was very little evidence of a deer going through the chipper.

Lol, yep, but they have enough people still dissappearing here, and I'm not about to add to that amount, wouldn't be good for my image for one thing, and plod would take a dim view of it too Here, it tends to be fox shooters and crow shooters. As I said, if they behaved themselves, and didnt tear up fields, shoot oil tanks and implements, and oil tanks, plus bust gates and fences, knock holes through hedges, then he wold have been welcome, especially if they bothered to ask. But, now its going to be a bitter feud, and they will eventually lose, and then they'll blame everyone but themselves

Think those idiots would at least have the decency to do as little harm as possible. Guess they are lucky that farmer does not have the same view as some farmers out west that would not treat them kindly if they were trespassing on their land. I have a friend that had access to a great spot for hunting deer. After a while the farmer trusted him to bring me onto the land. I was pretty happy because they have quite a few big deer on that property and at least they always see deer. Where I hunt you better shoot on if you see one because it is likely going to be your only chance.
Anyway before the season some idiots from NYC showed up, cut a hole in his fense drove through the property and then cut down some trees so that they could see better from where they planned to put up treestands. Well the farmer was PO'd to say the least. So that was the end of my chance to hunt on that land as he did not want to take any chances. I am sure he knew that I had nothing to do with those idiots but he still felt better only letting those who he knew on his property.
Yep, they screw it for everyone, and they don't give a damn. And the worst of it is that plod isn't even really interested, they have more important things to do than chase people firing guns at any animal that moves. Hell the buggers even killed a badger the other night, and that's a protected species

Guess I passed over the part where they are shooting everything they can as well. Maybe you can get one of those hunting cameras that takes pictures of motion. Not sure if quads there have licenses or Id marks but maybe you can get a good photo that helps you ID who they are and then you can report them by name. Shooting protected animals here is sure to have some pretty stiff penalties just like there. Hope the farmer keeps his cats inside.
