So, got out for the first morning wednesday, after the farmer drilled the field with barley the night before. Wasn't expecting much as the birds wouldn't know it was drilled, but managed to pull in a few, and got 7 for 9 shots. One flew behind a tree just as I squeezed on him so just hit branches, and one took two shots at 50+ metres to bring him down. Also had anther crossr at 50 metres and a crosare at 70 metres, both of which dropped to a single shot each of 36 gr of no4 lead.
Yesterday afternoon some discovered it, and again this morning, but a steady drizzle meant I would have been carrying tons of mud with me and pulling seeds out on my boots. But its dry this afternoon, and forecast dry tomorrow, so will be up at 04:00 and set up on the field at 05:00, so should be ready for them at 05:45 as sunrise is just after 06:00
wish me luck lol

Well, got out this morning, but weather was wind still and sun came up bright. Very little moving and sun full in the eyes. Result was only two down outright and four other dropped with a wing shot, and 6-7 misses due to the sun. Mate hardly got anything, he managed one dropped outright and one winged too, plus 4-5 misses After 4 hours of it we gave up.
A big problem is that he crows have young at the moment, so aren really interested in grain, and instead are looking for worms and grubs, so will probably be about three weeks before we get some proper shooting
