I recently got my hands on a Model 25 Daisy... Any of you know much about em??? It shoots extremely hard and is in good shape. I shot a sparrow off my feeder and the bb went thru the sparrow and made a whole in my siding. I am wondering how old it is. It is engraved from trigger to front sight and is in excellent shape. I cleaned it up oiled it and the dang thing shoots like a rifle!!! I think production ceased around 72 or 74. I'm surprised I didn't have one as a kid. Probably only authorized for Taliban children now!!!
Is that the one with the sliding forearm like a pump shotgun? If so, I think my brother had one back around 1958-60. In his hands it was extremely accurate, and hard hitting as you say. During that time, I believe they had a leather plunger gasket, and if you oiled one well, or over oiled one, the gasket would swell and make a really good seal. This means more air being pumped into the barrel, and less escaping out around the gasket. I think I saw some of these advertised at Smoky Mtn. Knife Works here in beautiful Sevierville, TN., as reconditioned Daisys if anyone would like one.

Yes thats the gun!! Do you remember if the stock and forearm was wood or plastic?? Mine is plastic. I'm surprised I didn't have more hits on this post?? Maybe I'm gitn to old Most of you boys were not born when this bb gun was made. I'm shocked at how hard it shoots and how accurate it is.....
I think his was plastic. I did an Ask.com search on it, and it said that it was more powerful than the lever actions was because Daisy didn't want to put that much force on a lever action to avoid injuring young kids. I remember getting my fingers slammed between the lever and receiver if you accidentally pulled the trigger before you got your fingers out, anyway. There was over 100 fps velocity on the Mod. 25. Apparently Daisy is still making the 25 but it is in China, and is the same force as all the lever actions now. Ask.com can explain a lot better than me. My brother is 68, and I think his 25 was used when he got it. He grew to be one of the finest marksmen I've ever known, and who's to say that that Mod. 25 didn't put him on his way to that distinction?

I remember that bb gun too. I never knew models back then, nor did my parents let my brother & I have one. They were afraid that we would shoot an eye out!
I still think it's better to shoot your eye out with a BB gun than to scramble your brains with video games. There is at least one generation of young men in this nation that are virtually (no pun intended) worthless when it comes to practical knowledge and common sense. I wish I had slammed my fingers in the car door rather than to have given my son his Nintendo. That was the end of my bright, outgoing, life-loving child.
