Whew!! I didn't know England had that kind of crow problem. Is this guy employed to eradicate pests, or is he killing them on his own supply of shotgun shells? Also, what kind or kinds of shotguns did he use to rack up a tally like that? I'll bet he had to bury those with a backhoe, or incinerate them with a pile of railroad cross ties. To read a number on a page does not have the same effect as seeing them in a picture. One picture is worth a thousand words, or several hundred crows!

You bet a picture is worth a thousand words! To often large shoots occur in areas where it's hard to retrieve the birds, plus you need the right kind of spot not only to find them but also set them up in a grid pattern like in Red's photo.
Here is one of my favorite photos where you could see the birds. I shot 506 the day before and went back the next day when I had much better lighting for a good photo. The coyotes ate over a hundred of them just over night! That's why there are 386 instead of 506 in the photo you are looking at.
Bob, 386 are still more than I can count from a picture. That's still a very impressive tally, and I believe shooting crows is much better practice and more practical practice than shooting skeet. You folks that harvest that many crows in a day must be EXCELLENT wing shots. I'm lucky to get 35 in a morning, but I'm a lousy wing shot. I salute you!

When you do something that requires eye to hand coordination the more you do it the more you get a feel for it.
I like hunting live birds much more than clay targets myself. The only clay bird shooting I do is about a month before I start hunting crows, mainly to get my shoulder toughened in from the recoil.
