Hunted another orchard on a depredation hunt this morning. Noah, Savannah and I killed 68. This is an orchard that is hunted often in our area. The birds were very spooky with only a handful of young birds came within 40 yards. This was bird number 34 of the morning. It was inbound and then crossing at about 45 yards to start. It was trying to bug out before it even made it to the setup. Noah was screaming "IT"S A HAWK! DAD! DON'T SHOOT!." I never checked up! Firing three shots at it into the sun/clouds. It was a really bright sky and the bird looked translucent. Both kids watched as it met it's fate and wings spread floated to the ground. I instantly jumped out of the blind and raced toward it. When I got to where it fell all I could see was white. I could not believe that was the bird I had just shot. I though for a second that Noah was right. To my great relief and elation it was a CROW!! Wish y'all could see it in person. It is fabulous!
Skeetshooter was not with me and is none too happy right now.

That is really an unusual piebald crow, please tell me your having it mounted? You more than likely won't see another one like that for the rest of your life! You have a lot to be proud of with that trophy!

This is exactly what I said to my children. I am having it mounted. I need to find a taxi that is good with crows.

My wife keeps asking me what I will do with it and I had no idea. I have never had anything mounted and it is not my style to decorate much. Skeetshooter had a wonderful idea. The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is only 20 miles from here. My family visits it often. I am going to see if they will let me display it. I think it will make a interesting specimen for them.
I am looking for a taxi that specializes in birds and specifically crows. If you know of one that is exceptional let me know.

Fantastic bird!!! You are one lucky guy! No matter where you place it in your home, be sure twin spotlights are shinning on it at all times! This the jewel of crow-dom. Double wow!! Once mounted, please send more pictures of it then!!!
Wow, very noteworthy bird. Drives me nuts because I've shot many thousands of crows during the past 35. I have never come close to anything of that calibre. Only the odd one with a bit of white on a wing or tail feather. Congrats on your trophy.
