We had a great day shooting in a pasture where crows have been feeding and socializing for some time.. Picked up 87.. Shot with my dad and friend.. Birds decoyed very well and not call shy.. W used the "duck hunting method." and only mouth calls.. I tried out my new fine Gibson and it brought them in across a large grass pasture where they set their wings and glided in for a landing.. We let one crow land and I stood up for a shot he didn't see me.. I said "hey buddy" he looked straight at me and knew he had just screwed up.. He got up about 24" vertical and 24" horizontal from his landing position and #6's puffed him well... What a great day! enjoy some of the pics.
That is a really nice view from your blind. I bet that was fun watching them come in from across the pasture. I love shoots like that. Congrats on a great hunt.

Greg certainly touched on the aspect of your hunt that I find most pleasing followed by your impressive TBC: you could see the birds coming across the field at distance! Us run & guns guys are lucky to see the bird 50 yards before it gets into range!! Nothing like a visually unencombered shot at a crow!!!!
Yes, I didn't go into any details, but we had some birds that literally set their wings and sailed in from 400 yards as we were set up in a bottom area.. At times when coming to the decoys in pairs, they would do cross overs, switch ups, etc.. It's such a beautiful thing to watch. And for "us" crow" hunters just the fact that are were able to fool them in thinking they are coming to a group of their buddies feeding...For me, that's the fun part.. We had one bird approach from my side and when he got ~ 30 yards from the decoys he did a "barrel roll." He was only ~20' from me when he performed his last dance...What a day and shoot.. I hope each of you are able to have a great experience as we did...
