I have a preymaster 4 that has been a complete pos since the day I bought it. Changed batteries today and it wouldn't come back on. Called HS and he said it needed to be reset. He was gonna email directions but he hasn't yet. I took the day off to punish some crows and this guy hasn't emailed me, so another day off down the $hitter. I can't afford a foxpro right now so im gonna have to make do with this pile of crap. Anyone know how to reset this affliction from hell? As soon as I get a fox pro I'm beatin this thing with a hammer and mailing it back to HS.

I took this off the Predatormasters site. Good luck.
1) While the base unit is turned off, remove the batteries from the base unit and reinsert them.
2) With the base unit still turned off, remove each of the three memory cards from the base unit and reinsert them, making sure you can hear them lock/click into place. (Also, try the memory cards in different slots to determine if the problem may be with the cards and not the base unit.)
3) Turn the base unit on and select a sound, making sure the remote is at least a few feet away from the base unit. (If it’s too close, it may not signal properly.)
4) If you think the problem is with the memory cards and not the base unit, please take a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol and clean the brass contacts on the cards. Occasionally there will be a slight residue on these contacts, and oftentimes, this is all that is needed to get them working.
5) If the preceding steps do not work, re-synchronize the remote with the base unit by taking a pin (or a paper clip that’s been straightened out), and inserting it in the small hole above the battery compartment on the back of the base unit. While pressing and holding this ‘reset button,’ push a button on your remote and hold it for three seconds. This will reprogram that remote to that particular base unit and reset the caller.
thanks, I tried the reset but it didn't work. the lights on the base unit won't even come on and it smells like burnt wire insolation, I know that smell cause I'm an electrician. I think my caller took a $hit. Its kind of a relief cause now I don't have to fool with the junk anymore. I guess i'll be saving for a foxpro. Meanwhile I will be doing it old school with my older than dirt lohman crow call. thanks again.

While you're saving for that FoxPro, I suggest putting a little aside for a Darrel Gibson crow call too, its in a whole different league than the Lohman.
Good advice from Texas Matt! I think you will find that combo usage of the FoxPro and even decent ability with a Gibson or any high quality mouth call, is more effective than either alone!
Go on HuntinPa.com, go on forums, look under "hunting items for sale", page 2. Someone has a FoxPro fx3 for sale on there for $175.oo.....as someone posted on there, that's a steal. I just checked, and it's still there. has charger and remote, says it's 4 years old.
