I haven't seen any posts from my area so is like to start one... we have a open season year round on crows here... I've used a feeding set... got a few birds in but I think I shot the scout oops... so it was a low number day ...like 2 lol.... my next is baiting set... put some guts and dog chow out.... see what happens... any ideas???
"suggestions"? Like keep a barf bag handy? Well Utah has red tailed hawks and great horned owls and golden eagles so you could get a decoy like that idea. I've been to utah and Mister-i never saw a single crow anywhere! About all i saw were Golden eagles and ravens!
Try asking your fish and game department what ever they are called and find out where the farms are as this is a good start. Fill up that gas tank and scout as well. Don't tell anyone if you find any is another.
To be fair i did not get into the deep rural areas to see anything.utah to me is nothing but mountains and valleys.Off hand i would look at the eastern section of the state or the southeast bordering colorado(?) possibly...
Rocky B: Love your avatar picture!! Your gang looks like a band of terrorists!!! Face paint can only mean one thing: a serious crow hunter. By the way, you ARE supposed to shoot the scout(s)... dead as dead crows tell no tales! No way of knowing for sure, but you appear to be on the edge of a field and if stationed there, you need to be hidden very well. Fact is, not hidding well and too much movement...are probably the most common reasons not to get crows into shotgun range. BUT, that is just a guess.
You are right. I do not remember postings from Utah! Don't be a stranger and send pictures when you can!! Good luck with your de-crowing operations.
Skip...thx so much... we are learning every time we go out... I love this forum and can't wait for my membership confirmation... so I can see the advanced stuff...i feel like a partof a family with crow busters ..thank yall ...and merry christmas
