Welcome to the forum novice, I am new also to this site and I live in Anniston. I look forward to your post's .
Wingmaster I know what you mean but if you get down this way give me a shout.
Reading your post on Aldeer about crow hunting is what got me interested. (thanks)
I started to book a hunt with you,but being a hard headed hunter I wanted to learn the hard way.
Thank's again, this has given me a lot of good times with my family.
If your ever up this way (Anniston area) give me a PM, maybe we can meet, talk some huntin (LOL)
How is your season going? I have not got to hunt but two times in Feb. with not a lot to report.
Hoping to shoot a feed lot this week, Owner said he was seeing a lot of birds.

Butch
Friday was my first hunt for 2014. I was rusty with the boom stick. Winged several birds and dropped three. Not too bad for a hour and a half.
I called it a day early though. It was my first hunt in a year or so without my dog.
We were heading south this weekend also but leaving Sat. Morning at 1:30 am for a half day shoot was to much after a long week.
Hoping to go Friday and Saturday we'll see.
Good deal, I know all about being rusty. Sounds like you lost a good companion. I am a dog man myself, don't have any huntin dogs only pets now, but I've had the pleasure of having a couple of decent bird dogs (pointers) and my Dad had a couple of Great dogs.
Lot's of good memories when it comes to Mans Best Friend !
Hi Butch,,,,, Anniston????? My Grandma lived in Anniston, My entire lineage is from Anniston and Piedmont. I remember when I was a kid playing in my grandma's yard. She lived a stones throw from the Alabama pipe company. Every manhole cover in this town in Southern Illinois has that brand on it. I think of her everytime I walk down the street and see a water meter cover or a manhole cover. Small world aint it??? Yep my great Grandpa fought in the Alabama 51rst volenteer infantry. My Aunt still has the biggest part of his uniform, belt buckle. canteen and such.................

It is a small world, I know what you mean about the covers and if you look at fire hydrants on top you will see a lot are made here, It is great to hear of your experience here. We haven't got a lot of good press thru the years with civil rights, pollution but its home.
I might even know your family, when I get a chance I will send you a PM, at work now.
