Many years ago back when I was a real outlaw I used to shoot sea gulls on Long Island Sound back in the 1960's. Me and a buddy would go out on a Sunday morning before people were up and about, sailing & just being on the water. I used to carry cinder blocks in the boat to sink the dead sea gulls so there would be no evidence floating on top of the water! You could sink a dozen big sea gulls like in your photo pretty easily with one cinder block. The more sea gulls you knocked out of the air the more would come because they thought there was something good around my boat to eat! You could shoot 75 to 100 sea gulls pretty easily, the only reason we did not shoot more on any particular outing was that my boat could only carry so many cinder blocks! I needed a bigger boat! LOL!

I was told by someone who just might know they invented 'West Nile Virus" that was created here in the United states to reduce the crow and sea gall (note: all gulls live near the sea but are different species-gray backed gull , herring gull, greater gull-almost as big as a goose) populaltions. It did NOT come from Africa.
