If it's way off the road in an out of the way spot I just leave them lay for the coyotes to eat. If it's any where near where other folks travel I pick them up and pitch them in the under brush so it's "like it never happened"

I have an ice fishing jumbo sled that I use to pick most of them up, throw the sled into the auto, and drive it to the nearest treeline. If Im out in the middle of a field I'll leave a few in a deep tractor rut or something but I dont want anyone to see my "dark spot" in the field as they drive by. Do not want any attention.

Like it or hate it, hunting crows is a blood sport.

If you have a local hog farmer in the area, they will normally take them gladly. Free feed.

I've told this story before but back in the early 1980's we had a hog farm that the crows loved going too. It was a 15 minute drive from my house. They had this one sow that would point like a hunting dog with one leg up and be watching the sky for the next crow to get shot! She ate more crows than all the other hogs, I suppose that's why they call them hogs!

This was the spot where I had a late night and left for the hog yard and forgot my damn guns! I had to use Boyd Robeson's back up gun so I didn't have to go back home. Good thing I had a partner that morning.

I throw them in the woods as to not spook the crow left alive to be hunted another day, that is after the days hunt.

Recall there was a while back, a discussion of, ah, crows and fine cuisine.doh.gif

This led the discussion to a TV show called Dead Meat and the show's hero feasting on "medallions of crow breast" or some such delectable--the guy even did "crow sushi!" (raw crow breast....wtf.gif) This show was, I believe, somewhere way down south (No offense to anyone below the Mason-Dixon Line).

My rule is this.... If the ground has ever been mowed, I pick em up. If not they make dam good fertilizer. Possums n coons eat more than the yotes. I have noticed that nothing will eat the gizzard tho. I've been back to a spot n noticed the only thing left is feathers feet n gizzard....
