Crow Bustin 3!!

Well Charlie and I hit it again this past Sat morning. We had a wonderful frozen time it was super cold and windy but the crows were flying good. I think the fresh layer of snow that had fallen that morning screwed us as neither one of us had snow camo on!

We still managed to scratch down about 12 crows and some got away in the flurry of evening shooting! We didn't want to run out and chase down runners with dozens of crows flying in!

We saw an Osprey and then a little while later, we saw a mature Bald Eagle both were Charlie's first time sighting in WV. He's a relative newcomer to wing shooting of any sort. Here's face of a happy hunter.

My Rem 870 did a good job although it had a couple of operator errors! LOL! At least twice I raised the gun up and clicked on an empty barrel on super close should've been dead crows! I had short stroked it and of course it failed to load a new shell in the barrel. Still not complaining first time using a pump for 35 years or close to that anyhow.

I will get the hang of it!

Here in missouri it isn't that uncommon to see bald eagles in January and February while crow hunting with many of them coming in to the crow calling!

I was out a couple weeks ago with a buddy coyote hunting and had an eagle come straight at me to my hand calls. He must have only been 20 feet away from me when I moved and he flared. I'm not sure what his plan was, but I'm sure glad I moved instead of waiting it out to see what happened.
