There was a time when I never paid attention to many of the sounds around me, I would hear, identify what animal , bird , or whatever and go on about what ever I was doing , except deer huntin where sounds help to alert you of game activity.
Said all that to say since my 1st time in a blind , listening to the E-Caller and mouth calling and hearing Mr.Crow talking I think I hear every one of them now ! ( L O L ) I am hooked ! Probly sounds crazy but after a hunt when its quite I can swear I still hear the caller too. Well I've admitted and that's supposed to be the 1st step to recovery ( Yea right (lol) )
As y'all can tell its slow here in Bama on Crows, went last Friday and shot a greenfield on our Deer lease and only called in 10 and killed 7 and hurt ones feelings real bad. By the way have got some pics from 2013 hunts to post when I learn how to get them off wife's e-mail and put on here. Rookie's line says crows are still winning , mine would have to include computers to.
Butch, i'm the same way... this time of year the local crows gather up around the business part I work at and talk their local " language" Years ago I would never even known it was crows communicating. Now, I listen and watch..I've got a crows nest on the way to work and I see them entering and exiting feeding the young. The nest is probably +90 ' in the very top of a pine tree. If it were lower I'd consider "raising" a pet..

Hey, I got a "shout out"! Yeah, Butch, at least for me, the crows will always still be winning. Even with the pros on here, crows won't be endangered any time soon.
On the computer side, I do alright there. I record my own crow sounds, download to my computer, convert them to .mp3, edit them, reduce noise, increase volume, and add them to my e-caller. Now, I have a new weapon - a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone with a much better voice recorder microphone than my LG Spectrum. I use a parabolic device that I attach to the end of my phone and capture crow sounds in the field. I try sitting on my deck (I live in the Village) and hand call crows, and I've captured sounds while bow hunting, and can't wait to capture some sounds this May during turkey season with my new device.
Yes, I've got it bad! But it's a blast. The crows in my neighborhood talk about me all the time. "There he is! That's the guy!" And, I definitely continue to hear my e-caller after a hunt.
The crows are nesting here in Upstate NY, and before you know it, they'll be chasing me off on the golf course as I search for my errant ball. I might need to bring my audio capture device on the golf course this summer. I always bring a telescoping fishing rod for when things get backed up.
If you need help posting some pics I can help you. You could forward me the email and I can post them for you. If you are interested just holler and we'll exchange email addresses via PM.
Thanks BH , will do that when I get back home. I enjoy seeing everybody's pics and thought maybe others would like to see ours, and let me say I am not much better with photography.(LOL)
