Invested two days and have drove just under a thousand miles so far with good results. Thought we had lost one of our better orchards but the previous Owner spoke well for us and We will also get to shoot a orchard the new Owner already owns. Hope we can make a good start with Him and take out a bunch of Crows. Got to hit the road and do about 500 more miles and meet with a few more prospects and make a few phone calls and hopefully we will be set up pretty good. Good Lord willing we are going to get after some crows! Good hunting to everybody!
Finished up the last leg and picked up 4 more properties and made contact by phone with a peanut farmer that has a few orchards and has a crow problem. This area may be the best I've found. Looking forward trying the peanuts.
Being new to this sport I've had to put a lot of effort in scouting and getting permission and as the season progresses I will see if the effort pays off. Hoping to put the things we've learned from you Guy's and our own experience's and have some good hunts.
We know how these rascals can keep you humble even with a lot of effort, but location is key to good kill numbers, so here's looking forward to see if it all comes together.
Thanks for the good luck we will need it , and the miles are bad but I just live in an area of the State where they only want to grow pine trees. Hope you have a great season !
That should pay off big time! Probably my biggest fault is not developing some opportunities -- I've got crows in nearly any direction within a hour. Have fun!
I'm real close, 14 more shifts!
Hopefully we will have some good Pic's but with these Crows as you know they can make you look good and bad.
I was thinking about our previous hunts and don't get me wrong I love to kill a bunch but one of the best hunts we killed only 10 but
These rascals had been harassed and the area didn't have a lot of crows.
Looking forward to reading your post and your Pic's
Had the time off and nothing on my plate to do which is rare for a family man ( plus it was so hot down here I don't think I'd done anything anyway LOL) . But you said have fun and no matter the outcome that's what I want to do, alway's been a serious deer hunter and it's challenging but a lonely sport, I hunt alone 98% of the time but this Crow hunting you have fellowship and can laugh at each other and shoot a bunch of shells and actually help landowners out while having fun. Hope you get time to expand out some, and remember as you told me Have Fun!
