Well we went this morning and my 10 year old got a new mossburg 20 guage youth model for an early Christmas present. He killed 3 out of the 17 we killed. One of the ones he shot happen to be a piebald. I think I was happier for him than he was. Needless to say he is hooked.
Love that last picture. So many good things there: green faces, piebald crow, younger brother with sweatshirt on backwards, dog with crow in mouth, and sister peeking thru the door. A family classic for sure!
LOL I have looked at that picture a dozen times and never noticed her peeking through the door. LOL Yea the little brother with the shirt on backwards tickled me. He had to hurry and get dressed so he could go out and see what we killed. He didn't have time for mom to help.LOL
I showed the picture to some friends at work and my accountant ..spotted the the kid in the door right away.. .. Further observations: Bag of deer corn, "e" caller ( Foxpro maybe?), cammo pump shotgun, all "pull on style" boots, female dog, maybe a fish crow second from right, kid with blue shirt missing a hand..( just kidding) a fine family indeed.. I wish you all the best and a Merry Christmas..
Thanks Mark!!! I wish you and your family and all on the forum a Merry Christmas also. Ill have some more pics next week. Just so yall know the little fellow with the shirt on backwards is 1 of 2 twin boys. The other twin was out in the yard with his toy tiller plowing him a garden.LOL They are 3 years old. I cant wait for them to be old enough to start hunting with us. Merry Christmas everyone!!
Gacrower: Wow...probably the best crow picture I have ever seen!!! A true family portrait replete with all the accruements anyone would need to dispatch the wily crow not to mention the princess eyeballing the hunters! Perhaps she wanted in on the action! To me, the real essence of this report, it the taking of a Piebald crow by a 10 year old. I have hunted crows for 57 years and never killed one! Not sure if this was his first crow hunt but was his first hunt with his new gun. I remember well my first crow hunt...I was 14 years old. I also remember well that I shot 15 times that morning and to my knowledge, all those birds are still flying--0 for 15! So, congrats to your deadeye son.. dropping THREE birds on his own! Next time, we need to see a similar picture with 50 KIA's.. lock and load!!!
