So, bought a new mouth call of an English maker (MPK calls/ Matt Kirk) who does all sorts of calls, but this is his first foray into crow calls)
very good call indeed, tuned to the English carrion crow, and gives a nice raspy sound, not as deep as the Nordik Crow Call, but still a lot deeper than the American calls.
Well worth investing in. Price is about £25.00 pounds plus p&p
Also bought two calls for Germany
the other two calls are from a German maker (LOCKSCHMIEDE/ Nils Kradel) who makes a lot of duck calls too, and has recently started making crow calls as well. I have two from him, one with a metal ring around it, which is for normal crow calling, and the second unbanded, which is for "older" crows.
Again, both give nice raspy sounds, not as deep as the Nordik Crow Call, but far deeper than American calls.
These again are not very expensive, and around €30-€35.00 euros plus p&p
I must say, all three seem to work very well, and will make an excellent job of bringing in the crows to your blind.
the calls I have are just the standard "basic" models, as I have them for calling, not showing or collecting. That said, for more monies, you can have them from either maker in a selection of exotic woods, with laquer or oil finish, your choice, your money.
