Fall shooting continues. Buddy and I found a sizeable group feeding on sunflower and other crops. I estimate 5000 crows. Got permission and shot a sunflower field late afternoon. Later intercepted roost bound birds and had a good shoot. Sun was setting, ammo low and wind dropped to nothing. Decided not to educate roost bound crows anymore thus called a cease-fire! Get them in a few days when wind condition are more favourable.

Final tally was just over 80 KIA's between the two of us. Attached a few pics of friend and myself with a few of the unfortunate. Pic of myself next to the old hand pump. Got upswind of a small group feeding in a field. No cover to speak of less the old building in the background. Called from there and shot from a hole in the roof if you can believe that! More to follow...

Nice report. From the looks of that shack, you're lucky it didn't fall on you when it was hit! Glad it didn'tbiggrin.

Very nice. You mentioned the wind died down, is no wind a bad thing? That would explain a few problems i have had before. I never really paid attention to the wind other then usuall direction VERY recently. Why does so little wind cause issues. I would think it would be easier to get around in.

My limited experience is that the wind is not our friend. I don't go out when the forecast is more than 10-15 mph. I might be wrong, but around here with no flyways it seems that high winds shut them down (same with turkeys). I have not noticed a difference with low/no wind ranging to < 10 mph.

Ah ok. Yeah high wind here has always been bad no matter what game you're after.
