Buddy and me had an awesome hunt this morning in SC. Only the sixth time we've ever been, but after many hours on this forum, google, and reading books its incredible how much it has helped. Modified an existing limb pile in a pecan orchard yesterday and brushed it in heavy, as luck would have it there was an old broken up short pecan tree directly in front of the blind that was perfect for sentries. Posted a few days ago about our flocking project this past weekend, to say the least it made a huge difference. Put out 6 sentries, 12 ground dekes, one triple play, and alpha dogg before daylight this morning, as soon as day broke it was on like donkey kong. Played the gathering call mostly with 5-10 minute pauses in between and a little later in the morning used the young crow call, all very successful. As I learned this morning the mistake I've made the past few times was having the call way too loud, kept in between 5-10 this morning and wow. Well if I wasn't addicted already, four hours and 130 bandits later sealed the deal for sure.
