A Game Warden stopped to check me out yesterday afternoon and said he watched me from a far before he checked to see if I had a license. He said he had never observed such carnage in his whole life! There were dead crows everywhere you looked as well as empty hulls. I gave him a brand new Fox Pro ball cap in camo material, that was for waiting until I was done for the afternoon. He was a very nice young warden.
On the afternoon hunt yesterday I killed the first 22 crows straight before I blew a shot.
The grandson and I got checked a few weeks ago, "she" said cease fire and all I saw was blonde hair. Thought it was a neighbor and a tree hugger. I told her to stay put till I saw the uniform. Worked out though she wasn't offended and checked us and I asked if she would wait till after we finished next time and told her how she could tell. She agreed and told us we were her first "serious" crow hunters she had encountered.
22 straight is strong! Congrats
Hi Butch, I'm doing laundry and loaded the pickup with more ammo this evening. The last 7 1/2 hunts have yielded 1,691 crows for me so far this season. I saw your 191 plus hunt posted, makes a guy feel good when things go right.
Your right on, these bandits play by their on rules and most of the time win ( with us that is).
1691 is a strong start, hope you reach your goal this year. Looks like we are getting some fresh birds in finally, not for sure but we had already hunted this spot and took over a hundred off and these today acted unhunted. So November could get real good if we do our part.
