We have a forum member who just earned his way into sporting clays NSCA Master Class, which is quite an accomplishment. Skip Woody from Chapel Hill, NC. Skip punched into Master at Deep River Sporting Clays this past weekend by breaking 96 out of 100 targets which took High Overall at the tournament where 45 people attended! But there is more to the story:
- Skip was a member of the "All-Army Rifle Team" from 1969-72 where, using the "match" M-14, he earned the NRA "high power" rifle designation of Lifetime Master. This puts him into an elite group of people who have earned Master status in both rifle and shotgun!
- Skip earned his NSCA Master pin in only 3 years of shooting...as a Super Veteran (over 65 years of age)! This means that the Old Coot can really shoot "Lights Out!"
- Skip is also a member of the FoxPro Field Staff.
He is Master in both Rifle and Sporting Clays... He is on FoxPro's Field Staff... He is also one heck of a nice guy, believe me!
Congratulations, Skip. That is quite an accomplishment.

Thank you all... but I must say Island Shooter's post sort of embarrassed me given how kind his remarks were BUT I appreciate them tremendously! Yes, it was a special day for me in that competition. The clay targets just seemed to fly into my shot pattern regardless of where I was aiming!! Luck was on my side for sure and us Medicare guys value those days. I was 75 in May of this year and I must admit it was kinda neat to whip up on all the young guys!!
