Have you ever noticed, that some fields corvid (crow species) and pigeon, you just can't stop coming in to a certain field, no matter how many dead birds are lay belly up, and how much you are stood up in plain view shooting, they just won't stop coming in.

Yet other fields, one or two shots and they are off, and other fields, no matter how good your decoy pattern, and how appetising the crop, they just won't come in at all, or very few, and those ones only for a quick fly over

some of these fields will be like that for a few months, others for years, and some seem to change within a few days

No but I have noticed that whenever I step out of the blind or pour a cup of coffee a bird will suddenly appear in range when I haven't seen any in over an hour.  Seriously the thermos is a great tool for bringing in birds.

Pete,

Yup, it's no different with waterfowl! Just try to take a leak or pour some coffee and they catch you off guard every time!

Red,

I have witnessed this myself in the states where they really favor some fields over others even when the crop is the same in every field! You are right that things can change rather rapidly with in a day or two on where they feed.

We have some spots that hunt way easier than others, always thought it was because of zero pressure.
NH. You are spot on I tell my partner to get ready when I pour a cup.

As a child I always wondered why ducks would suddenly appear over the decoys as my dad went to light a cigarette...evileye
