Ok so important to duck hunting is knowing when to call as much as you know how to call. So how do you think that figures into crow huntin? Or does it?

You're asking a lot of good questions. Recommend you purchase a copy of Shooting Crows by Bert Popowski (1946). Not a large book, nor expensive, but an excellent investment that will answer many questions and is fun to read. You can find it on Amazon or Abebooks.com for somewhere around $10.00 - $15.00.
In the chapter on calling crows, he even begins by making the comparison between duck calling (which you already do) and crows.
I have four books for sale on the sport of crow hunting. They were written by the best crow shooters in the business. Look in the Forsale section of this forum, if you are interested.
Wow what a good question! Ive wondered the same thing. I dont duck so I have nothing to go by.....lol
Ive tried to pay close attention to them chatting with each other and try and chime in when I felt it was right.
