W/S, my partner & I sure enjoyed ourselves this season. Had some good hunts and some very fine beatings!

So when do you quit for the crow season?

I'll hunt till it ends in March, Get's pretty slim by then, but that just makes it a better challenge!, I'll only get one day this weekend, heading for Burlington for the State Duck and Goose calling contest. I mainly like going through all the vendors and checking out the new stuff. Besides it's at a casino so mama will go on this trip!! Keepin the piece.

Here is a shot of Dick just waiting for the birds to move in the afternoon. His truck is right next to the blind.

JTN,

That is a stripped cotton field in the first photo. I thought all dirt looked old?

Odd not old haha. But wow I've lived around cotton fields my whole life and can't ever remember seeing one that looked like that.

JTN,

Perhaps I should have put on my reading glasses first! LOL. The clay in the dirt gives it that color JTN.

Bob,

Usually we are done by now, We haven't got Feb. crow hunting figured out because of other opportunities (crappie fishing)biggrin  But after the hot and dry fall (60 plus days with no rain) this year Feb. may be good if we get after them. Got a couple landowners who called me and reported more birds now than the fall which is unusual. Going to give them a shot, after the hunt I just posted on it could be educated birds but you don't know till you go.

That is correct, nothing ventured nothing gained.

I'm glad you disregarded my typo error when I asked when you're season ended.

So Bob you are a border patrol agent!

I wonder what that Border Patrol agent said when he realized you were just shooting crows? I bet the sounds of those guns made the border quite quiet that day?

Maybe made some of those illegals try to cross a different day haha, although I've read posts over on the predator masters forums and people talk about running into illegals while out calling predators some say they have even found old skeletons out there in the desert in Arizona and New Mexico!

Looking at your photographs one won't find anything like that anywhere  almost east of the Mississippi! That "big" roost in no mans' land north of me  never produced anything close to that even though my mind was blown away by the inaccessible  numbers here; well that takes the cake!

What was that anyways-5 miles wide of crows?(That area?) I cannot imagine that. Eye opening jaw dropping crows!

:jawdropping:

JTN,

You ever see the movie Sacarieo with Boneto Del Toro playing the main part in the movie? Well we were right across the river from old Mexico and after dark it is game on in those parts. The Border Patrol and the Sheriffs department know that Dick & I are just hunting crows. We were hunting south of El Paso and you can get a pretty decent motel room for $ 24.00 a night, the cheapest I have ever paid anywhere.

Wow! What an exciting hunt for sure.

Was the hotel worth about $24 a night?

JTN,

All my partner and I care about is a firm mattress, hot shower at the end of the day and a roof over our heads; nothing fancy. It was a clean flea bag motel with no roaches.
