The end of the 2016 crow season.

I had a decent season this crow season and ended up with 3,663 crows to my credit.

I just got off the phone with Dick my partner, he said he is already looking forward to next season! He said he is counting how many flats he has left. I told him he should go and fondle his shotguns because they will feel pretty lonely now that the season has come to an end.

Crows are starting to show up here in Canada. They migrate early, usually in pairs and establish nesting territories which are defended from others or the species pairs. Thus my spring shooting will shortly begin...usually late march and early April. Never shoot any huge numbers but can smack 20 or so crows every morning in comfort for a month or so. Never going to kill 3000 plus this way but puts a smile on my face after a long cold winter. Much bigger kills during the fall but more ground work required. Have a great off season Bob A...

Hi Ted,

Bert Popowski also liked hunting during the spring migration in Canada before I was even born!

Every crow hunter has his own definition of comfort in regard to the temperature he likes to hunt in. What is yours?

I like cooler weather for high volume hunts because you stay more alert in cooler weather and keep your focus better than a real balmy day. To me anywhere from high 30's to mid 50's is as good as it gets for me.
