Heated up and Cooling down in Iowa

First couple of weekends were pretty busy, but doesn't take long for the masses to catch on, 89 on the first weekend and 63 this weekend. Today was dismal at 7 birds , Overall though been having a blast.

WS,

I've been enjoying forum posts for quite some time and gather you're a fellow NE Iowan.

We took our beatings on the 14th and 20th with that dismal 7 number each day. 14th was cold with a stiff south wind and the 20th thirty degrees warmer, clear and calm. Couldn't get them in either day. Then, yesterday 27 Jan. my partner and I wacked 77 and 73 on two different sets. Light WSW breeze and they responded to call and decoys like God intended.

Looks like you had sod underfoot. We fought the mud to get in and out but it was worth it.

What do you think of numbers this season? We think that second -20 cold spell pushed some further south.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm basically computer illiterate but hope to figure out how to get some posted at some point.

Looking forward to your reports as the season progresses.

Nice job, also nice to see someone else uses a lay-out blind for crows.

I like the photo where your lab is keeping his eyes on the sky!

3 weeks ago, we had three mornings in a row that was 25 below zero, then we had days in the 50's, then we went back to zero, then yesterday it was 56*F. This morning it was negative 2..... I feel your pain.
