Well, due to circumstances beyond my control, it took until today to get out with my crow-busting pal Larry the Master Machinist. My wife has been dealing most of the year with lower back miseries. So, due to these and other responsibilities, I was out of action for the AUG-SEP Michigan season. But, we did get out this morning and to save time, went back to our “island” setting which required no blind as it was ready-made with the small grove of pines, etc., in which we could easily hide. We figgered’ (rightly so) that there would likely be a number of young’uns in the immediate area who had not been educated yet.
We nailed eight for eight during a nicely paced 30-40 minutes on an ideal morning (except for clouds of skeeters) with only a bit of a breeze. Larry downed one that bounced back up and landed on an island tree. Bad move, as he took the extra shot that finished the job. We don’t count that round. One bandit went down hard across the water; we did not collect that one for the group photo.
Equipment worked just fine: whirley whirled and drew them in, along with the two Buffy Bats; one upright and one on a bouncer, and a good spread of decoys. Two I got ("OA") by the wheel rim landed one on top of another. Very tidy; saves work picking them up.
Nice report, OA. I’ll bet those bandits thought they had that island all to themselves! Hope your wife’s medical issues improve. Back problems can be a real bear! Good luck with it all.

Thanks Demi. She's under treatment and has been all year. Progress being made.
