I made it a point not to shoot my local crows on my property this year. instead i use them for a case study. I have 3 to 5 that show up daily. the last few days they have been trying to get at the scissor tail nest's and rob the egg's or newly hatched birds. when i see the scissor tail's swooping at the crow's i just step outside and clap my hand's and and yell and the crow's take off.
Yesterday was a bit more excitement outside, I had two Hawk's swooping in and out of one tree with crow's raising hell right around them. I sat back and watched as one Hawk grabbed a young squirrel & flew off with it in it's talons. as it flew off 3 crows were harassing it till it was out of sight but it never let go of the squirrel.
I'm so tempted to give those nest robbing crow's some lead poisoning but i suppose i had better let nature take it's course.
