Demi, my friend from Johns Island was spared so I wanted to check on you.
Just got off the phone with a crow call maker from North Carolina who sees Daryl Gibson several times a week He spells his name differently it's Daryal Gosey and I mentioned to him that he makes a nice sounding crow call. I just got it in the mail today.
The hurricane was just offshore as it came by us. It was a Cat 3 storm, but we were on the left side so the max we saw at Russell Creek was 66 mph. The big problem was the slow track, so it blew for a long time, leaving us with a lot of debris and several downed trees.
A neighbor had two sailboats poorly secured to a floating dock that broke free, so another neighbor and I had to go out and secure the anchor line to a pecan tree to avoid them taking out our docks!
At work we lost two sheds that were blown into the next business’ rear yard. They were old and we only had scaffolding stored in them. The big thing was that we had no flooding this time, in town or on the Island.
I’ve been spending quality time with my chainsaw the last couple days while waiting for the power to be restored. It could have been lots worse, though!! Thanks for your concern.

Thanks Bob. We were lucky. But now we all need to pray to those in Bermuda who were at the mercy of Dorian at it’s peak for a full 48 hours. That scenario is hard to fathom!
