Thanks Bob for posting the "Yellow Jacket" crow call. Would like to share the story behind this call as it gives this call a certain legacy! It was made by Daryal Gosey a protégé of one of if not the best crow call maker on this planet-Darrell Gibson and Gosey is an artisan in his own right. In the mail last week I got a box from Daryal and in the box was the call and a hand written letter! Daryal agreed I could share his letter:
"Last week I had a Yellow Jacket flying around in the shop and it would not leave me alone. So I decided to "turn" this out.. the Yellow Jacket call! Take it and go sting some black birds". Signed: Daryal Gosey. It also had a P.S. "I did finally kill the yellow jacket in the shop".
I do plan to do as instructed... sting some black birds!
Thanks for the picture of that fine looking call Gadget Bob. And thanks for sharing the story behind it Skip. Interesting the things that inspire works of art. And only true works of art are both functional and useful.
Terrell, the "Yellow Jacket" will be one of a kind. Daryal Gosey has posted on this board in the past. Maybe he'll weigh in.
I made the call for skip and he has since had me make another one It’s being mailed today to Gadget Bob Any yellow jacket calls must be approved by Skip he has the rights to that call.
Thanks so much for making another one of your unique works of art! I will deploy it proudly throughout my Texas area of operations. I suspect it will be a big hit here in the Republic!
