Sorry fellow crow busters. I retired March a year ago and have been slaying hogs with a passion ever since. LOL
Killed 1,310 in 2018 and I am over 1,150 so far this year. Mix in a bunch of coons and coyotes and I am having a blast. But, I still love a good crow shoot.
I did have a decent shoot a week or so ago killing 81. I am going in the morning to try and improve on that total.
Will try to stay plugged in better from now on.

That's a heck of a lot of hogs ! They have become quite a problem in Oklahoma but i doubt anyone is getting the numbers you are. Do you strictly do night hunting for them ? Some guys around here use dog's on them. I think the guys with the big remote traps are doing the best. We used to shoot pigeons in a hog barn years ago. Those hogs made a feast of them when they fell into the hog pen. makes me wonder if they would tear into a pile of dead crow's left in the field after a good shoot.
I am running 6.5 Grendels on all my thermals now. The ammo is cheap. I am shooting the Wolf 100 gr FMJ.
I kill lots of pigs in that range. Come on down and get some. Will try to work in a crow shoot or two while you are here.

I am shooting a new A5 DS, I haven't shot a semi auto in many years. I still working out my shot shell and choke combo to see what works best.
I will get it worked out.

Georgia has a big hog population also. 20 years ago we used 3rd generations night vision with long distance camera lens attached with hose to see them way off. 5 pittbulls to catch them and 10 bay dogs. Suckling piglets are the best to eat. 30 live hogs a night are good numbers. When we caught a 500 lbs Boar and caped him out was the end of our hunting, as the goal was to mount a trophy. The good old days. Enjoy it while you can.
