Irritants

It seems as though when I plan to go crow hunting, about half the time something is blocking my plans. These irritants,I call them, generally three of them, cause more interference and aggravation than all other things together. My leading irritants (not in order) are...no crows, weather, deer hunters. What is disgusting is that I can't do anything about either. I can't do anything about the lack of crows, but search for new areas to hunt. And we have all heard the cliche about weather, and that is "Every body talks about it, but nobody does anything about it". Count me in. The last and most irritating, is deer hunters. They lease most areas suitable for crow hunting, and then forbid anyone to trespass on the property. They have their rights.

But there is this attitude that most deer hunters have, that is so revolting to me. They seem to think that if they kill a deer at 50 yards distance, with a telescoped rifle, they have done something really earth shaking and wonderful. I have talked to and known,  many deer hunters and asked them how accurate their rifle is. And most look at me in consternation and tell me that they had a friend, or gun shop, sight-in their rifle and then reply, " he said it shoots right on the money! Since when do you shoot money with a rifle?

Can't deer hunters, with all their amazing abilities, sight-in their own rifle? I know some can.

Now I've got it all off my chest. Feeling much better. Might even try to go crow hunting tomorrow, if some land somewhere, is not leased, or it is not raining, and if I can find some crows.

Problems  here too regarding the land gobbled up by homes worth nearly 1.6 million....farms drying up..posted land and competition for land useage when the shooting wasn't terrible just yet...but ironically the land was  posted when the crow shooting was so lousy getting out of bed wasn't worth it anymore...in the general area. Migrants weren't paying much attention  to their old haunts hardly ever...so I can sympathize....do it while you can the farmers' offspring might not be too enthusiastic  about life on the farm...O
