November Afternoon - still learning

Still watching and learning. Got out for a short time in the late afternoon of November 9th. FoxPro Spitfire, one crow decoy, A-5 and a box of shells. Got one crow to come close.

Scotty, do you have much of a crow population in your area or do the migrators bypass your area ?

One Spring day about 20 years ago, huge numbers of migrating crows stopped to feed in one of our winter wheat fields. Sure made an impression on me to see that many crows in one place.

Most of the time we seem to have scattered family groups. I have learned roughly where I can consistently see a few crows in town. Out in the country in our farms, I have noticed three different places where small groups fly through over the course of the day. In one place they move one direction in the morning, then work their way back in the other direction in the late afternoon.

Bob A scouted my area a few years ago and did not think there were enough crows to go after them.

Scotty,

Find where they're ending up in late afternoon. Those small groups may end up in a larger one. If a guy can find where their last stop is before they go to roost and be within call range of that spot before they get there, some shooting will occur. Keep after 'em.
