If you were a crow, it would not be recommended to sit in a tree outside Demi's bedroom window at first light and call to your buddies to see what's happening. What is going on is that Demi is inside, plotting how and when to silence you so he can keep sleeping!!
After a few days of listening to the racket outside, I went out this morning to "settle a score" and to get some extra sleep this weekend. All was set up last night...gun, FF5 flapper, and gear by the back door and decoys in the shed. With minimal food sources in the yard, my hunt was primarily to silence a couple of local crows before going to work.
Sure enough, the offending crow came in and was immediately educated on proper manners for our neighborhood! With the call going, I was able to pick up a few more birds passing through and had to stop an hour into it when a fast moving front brought high winds and rain showers in. The wind was enough to blow two of my sentry decoys out of the trees...Game over! The TBC was 9 crows, about half of which were fish crows. Driving in to work this morning had me thinking how nice and peaceful it will be to sleep-in this weekend!!
