Our season ended yesterday here in MS. I got out a few times this year but only had one good (for me) shoot. My season got off to a rough start as my blind met an untimely demise by a 12 foot brush mower. I had set it the morning before I was going to hunt and that afternoon the farmer had one of his workers mow around the field UGH!!. I guess I had it brushed in pretty well because he didn't realize he had hit something until it was too late. So I had to order new blind material and make more stakes. My good hunt was earlier in February and I scratched-down 18 and had a great time doing it!
Nicely done Rob. A blind like the one pictured would be easy to miss if one wasn't paying attention. Looks like a bunch of crows missed it as well.
One time we went to set up and a fence line had been cleaned out. One brush pile looked like an excellent place for a blind, but the thought of it being burned before the next day quickly changed our mind. It wasn't burned the next day, but within a week it was.
Thanks Randy! Yes, buying those blinds for the second time hurts!! I don't know about you, but I have found that the right blind set-up is as important (if not more) than anything else in getting a good shoot. Provided there are crows in the area, of course... It also makes for easier shots- which is what I need!
