Nice presentation except where he says crows can live up to 30 years in the wild. Not true, the longest living crow did live 30 years but it was in captivity ! Most crows life span in the wild is 5 to 7 years. If in fact (I'm rather skeptical) they really can dream then they should have nightmares wondering where Dale will be lurking next ! Do crows have compassion ? If so, only by seeing another dead crow and that is where the Mourning Call works when hunting them. I doubt they have any compassion raiding song bird nests, upland game and waterfowl nests.

This guy is a good speaker and it was interesting listening to him.

There's no doubt they're relatively smart compared to other birds, but some days they are just plain stupid. Those are the days we like.biggrin

A couple times he was spewing garbage, but it was an interesting clip to watch.

Many researchers now claim that in the tests they have done on many species in regard to solving problems that the common crow has moved from 4th to 1st being the smartest birds on the planet.

Randy made the statement that he has experienced crows throwing caution to the wind and most diehard crow hunters would agree as well as myself. But...... it's not because they are stupid in my opinion, it's because there tempers get them in trouble and that is when they throw caution to the wind. You see it everyday when someone gets pissed off and says something out of anger that they regret with a cooler head ! It's not because they are a stupid human they just let there emotions get the best of them for a short time, same with the crows !

The same dynamics apply doubly to men seeing an attractive lady... the other brain just takes over and gets us in trouble every time no.

Okay, I'll give crows and humans the benefit of the doubt and amend my statement. Some days they ACT just plain stupid.
