Hi everyone! Looking get into crow hunting after deer season this year with my cousins. I have a fox pro that I plan on using and we are ordering some decoys for use in the field that they frequent. For a blind, I was thinking of getting snow camo netting so it is large enough for the 3 of us. For loads we are going to be using what target loads we can get in 7.5 or 8 shot or my hand loads in 6 or 5 shot. Any suggestions on other things to use? I am unfortunately the only one with snow camo so that may be an issue.
I obviously have no idea of the conditions you'll be hunting in, but unless there's no background other than white, snow camo shouldn't be a necessity. We've used our whites once in the last two seasons. That day we dug a trench into a snowbank after a storm. There's usually always snow cover during our winter season, but trees, brush, round bales etc. break up the white enough any dark coat will work. Especially if you're in the shade. Just hide well and don't move before you shoot.

As crows are pretty tough birds, #8's are a little light. I would recommend 7½'s at a minimum. My preferred loads are 6's but of course there are many opinions around...most recommend either 6's or 7½'s. IMO, 1 1/8 oz. loads will do a good job. The 1¼ oz. loads have too much recoil and noise to suit me. But with the continued ammo shortages, you can't be too picky.

Thank you! I would prefer 7.5s at a minimum but like you said, can't be picky right now. Once I get more powder (if that ever happens lol) I will be loading a 1 1/8oz load of nickel plated 6s since that what I have the most of. Where abouts are you in SC? My girlfriend and I are planning a move in the next few years.
