A Suprise Crow Party
(Preview)
Right before Christmas a friend who owns farmland that was planted in peanuts asked me to hunt with him and his son. I wrote about it in an earlier post, and that was seven weeks ago. With the passage of time, the crows have been returning, so he called up again and wanted to hunt a nearby field. The fir...

Decoy question/idea
(Preview)
Has anyone taken a motion dove decoy (specifically the Mojo wind dove decoy) and painted it black amd used it as a crow decoy. The idea came to me when I was in Walmart today and saw these wind decoys clearanced priced at $9 each. Good idea or a waste money and time?

"Expect Nothing And You Won't Be Dissapointed"
(Preview)
Pete, my usual shooting buddy has a dove field near his house that he has been watching for awhile. Dove season ended a few weeks ago, but for some reason he didn't seem too interested in shooting the crows. He always waits until after the dove season to shoot, but this year he said there were "only 50 cr...

Been trying to come up with a more portable blind than what I currently use and after a few brainstorming sessions in the deer stand this is where I landed. I'll do my best to explain everything, but hopefully the pictures will do most of the talking. I knew I wanted something big enough for 2, but I also h...

A TCP Inspired Photo: A Trail Of Tears

Hi Gents, The MI season is on. Not sure how much I'll get out this section of season but I have a couple hunts under my belt so far. I found Gadget Bob's picture titled "Trail of tears" that he posted a few years back to be quite memorable. I enjoyed it. So, here is a "trail of tears" Michigan style. Wood...

Took a trip South to deer hunt with a couple friends and the last day got a crow hunt in. Things looked promising as we built blinds the p:m before the hunt, watched about a hundred using the property. Well things started great and we put about 15 on the ground the it got slow, birds were wary and stopped r...

Hunted a New Field

A very busy businessman (lives out of town) who owns several properties near me has had crows on three of his parcels and for months I have been trying to coordinate with him to hunt crows. Two of the three sites with crows are peanut fields (1-2 miles from my house) and one is a dove field. Once the pea...

Crow Seasons ". . . in the several States"
(Preview)
JTNorthArk, in his response to Lefty2Barrels post, Decoy Question/idea," said that Alabama has no stated crow season. This equals crow-carnage all year long! My fellow Crow Busters, I believe this situation has to violate some kind of Constitutional right for those of us in, as is frequently writ...

My other hobby

Just wanted to introduce the forum to my hobby. It's a 2008 Caliber SRT. I have some "stuff" done to it. Has around 400hp/400tq and makes the 1/4 in around 11.75sec. I enjoy it and am excited to use my new ram, that we just picked up last week, to pull it to the track and fill the bed with crows of course! [URL...

Who knew?
(Preview)
Can't say I've previously heard of this event. I'm glad that it's over on the other side of the state in the "Thumb," as we don't have enough crows over here in the SW corner to begin with. At least the bars should do good business--which is likely the Chamber of Commerce's aim. I'm not driving 237 miles (G...
