Feb. '22
(Preview)
Hey all, We spent the month of February and into March battling wary crows. A lot of half days with kill numbers in the mid twenties when with cooperative birds, three or more times that could have been had. A bit frustrating, but still fun. Our best two hunts were 79 and 97. The latter, a cold late Feb....

Jan. '22
(Preview)
Hey guys, We hunted four times in the last couple weeks and weren't real satisfied with the results. We downed 100 our first time out in good conditions. 32 degrees, a light breeze and partly cloudy. Had a lull in the middle of the day before things picked up at around 2:00. We were stuck on 99, but determ...

New / Calls
(Preview)
I saved some wood from a post oak limb from my old grandparents house and a camellia bush I cut down.. I delivered the wood to Daryal Gosey in Bostic, NC. I asked Daryal to make some calls. The ones on the left are from the post oak and the right are from the cameliia bush. Daryal said it was his first time to ma...

150 crows was the average per hunt this season.
(Preview)
That is 150 between my partner and I. Went out 15 times this season. The last two seasons have been off years to be sure! I shot my 170,000th crow this season (my lifetime total) and finished with 170,809 crows. I can tell that I am not as agile as I was 10 years ago. Father time catches up with all of us if we...

Top Secret Hunting Tip!
(Preview)
Tip: When every piece of exposed corn stalk in a field looks like this, you should hunt there. Hehehe. Not ducks. Not geese. Not deer. Those are all crow tracks my friends. -- Edited by Big Honkers on Saturday 12th of February 2022 09:44:25 PM -- Edited by Big Honkers on Saturday 12th of February 20...

Motion Crow Decoys
(Preview)
Does anyone use a motion decoy like the Mojo Motion decoy or others? I would love to get the F5 decoy, but they are usually out of stock and the possibility of killing a donor crow are low each hunt.

First Crow
(Preview)
Hey All, My 12 yr. old got her first crow on Saturday. We did an afternoon hunt. It was hot! The action was pretty slow and we only ended-up with 5. After several misses she was so shocked when she dropped one. " I got it! I got it! Daddy, I got it!" It was pretty cute. However, she flat refused to go pi...

Road trip, other crow hunters & a Trophy Piebald !
(Preview)
Dale and myself haven't posted much lately since our hunts were lackluster to say the least. So we decided to dig deeper in an area we hunt and knock on some new doors. We did that on our last outing & learned of other crow hunters in the area and we left with unfinished business because we needed to fol...

After coming back from a road trip where the birds had a lot of hunting pressure I hit a local spot near a pecan grove, I usually hit this place in October but I left it alone this year till today. Got set up facing north with a brisk south wind, I was at the edge of a hay field about 500 yards from the grove. I was...

Fall 2021
(Preview)
Hey guys, We had a difficult fall and it led to a slow start on the crows. We managed to get out once at the end of Oct. and battled wary crows. The wind was right but they wouldn't decoy and the shooting was tough. We called it quits with 30, but it was good to be after 'em again. A couple weeks later we got out...

Question for FF5 decoy owners
(Preview)
Do you use the small metal stake provided with the ff5 or do you raise it up some, they seem to react to it fairly well as it is. Just wondering. The old charger from my old Johnny Stewart seems to do a good job of charging my 12v 7ah battery.

White crow sighted.
(Preview)
My hunting partner was hunting alone last week and said he saw a white crow but not in time. It was on the back side of the blind and by the time he got turned around the crow was behind a tree and no chance for a shot. If that won't ruin your day nothing will. I see no posts, everyone quit?

First time sharing a hunt. This one took place on October 9th. A group of us had been hunting resident geese and noticed a good group of crows cross the property.
