Looking for info about crow hunting for magazine article
(Preview)
I write the Locker Room column for Cityview Magazine in central Iowa. The column is a sort of "alternative sports" column, covering the sort of athletic events ESPN the Ocho would envy. Anyway, I'd like to feature crow hunting in the column. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me...

Maxus Owners!!!
(Preview)
I have fired over 2500 rounds thru my Maxus and finally had some problems. My gun would fire fine and eject the shell but the bolt would not return the next live round. I would have to assist the bolt forward or basically perform s.p.o.r.t.s. on it (for you 80's veterans). I decided to break the gun down co...

Probably really dumb question. But my niegbor owns a huge orchard right across the street from me and I've noticed over the years the huge amount of crows on the property. Baiting crows
(Preview)
Anyone ever try baiting for crows using corn? Ive got a spot behind my house that always has a few crows because of the cows, they usually sit in the trees and peck the ground. Its only 5-10 birds that I see but there's more nearby. Im hoping the corn will draw more this way. I haven't hunted them yet eith...

Well, I thought this was a pretty good set up, and I still think it was, but the crows stayed high and away. I have hunted here before and the crows just know me too well. My buddy doesn't hunt crows with me, but he did get up early to give me a lift to my stand in his new Kubota, and came to pick me up when I was do...

Hand Call Problem
(Preview)
I have had a Jack Mincey call for about a year now. In Pa., the season lasts from July to the beginning of April. Last year the call worked great, no matter how much I called, but this year for some reason, after about a minute of calling with that call, it gums up. I didn't use it during the summer, I just had i...

What is the best mouth call for crows? I want something that really sounds like a crow. Cost doesn't matter. Currently using a few turkey locator calls that don't sound to bad and calls them in but I'm sure it sounds nowhere near as good as a quality call. Also, does anyone have good luck using strictl...

Feeding setup vs run and gun??
(Preview)
I have been hunting quite a bit lately! I don't have any decoys yet, and have been running and gunning on the river off the boat. It has been working great, but like most people say I get one to two shots and that's it per spot. The average number of crows I call in is usually 10-15 per spot, and a couple times...

Crow Hunt Videos

Sunday was my second shoot of the season. Went out with my son to our semi-permanent blind before first light. We got busted by a few really early crows, and we only bagged 8, but it was still fun. Glad to have him around -- I carried the big decoy bag, and he pulled my crow sled with the rest of our gear! S...
