Opening Day in SW MI
(Preview)
Really nice opening day. Modest statistics: 3 confirmed, 2 possibles. Possibles because I wasn’t about to walk into drippy wet soybeans to find them. I have a special photo for M12 Shooter (Ted), as he steered me toward an interest in ancient pump shotguns and finally, I was able to take mine out tod...

Opening Day...
(Preview)
Hasn't been a lot going on here on the Forum in a couple of days. Just thought I'd let everybody know that there are only 12 days and a wake-up until Michigan crow season 2014 #2 (1 AUG - 30 SEP). Sure glad I bought a couple hundred extra generic 12 ga., prior to the current ammo insanity. Go get em'!

Daisy Model 25???
(Preview)
I recently got my hands on a Model 25 Daisy... Any of you know much about em??? It shoots extremely hard and is in good shape. I shot a sparrow off my feeder and the bb went thru the sparrow and made a whole in my siding. I am wondering how old it is. It is engraved from trigger to front sight and is in excellent s...

September 1st can't get here quick enough.
(Preview)
Just to let you all in on a little secret. Instead of using the boat just for fishing try crow hunting out of it. I call it shoot and roll. Shoot a little bit then roll up the river. I hunt the great Ohio and have never ran out of crows. It's even fun to shoot the pigeons underneath the bridges.

Great support service at FOX PRO
(Preview)
Man you do not find companies that take care of customers like they do any more. Here is the story I have had my Fox Pro FX 3 at least 4 years and used it hard. This last season I noticed that the speakers were vibrating and not clear or certain sounds. Well, just to make sure it was not my imagination I sent...

Spring Crows

Got out this morning and "bounced" 22 crows and one that wobbled off as a probable. Nice to get out, burn some powder, and blow the dust out of my shotgun barrel after what is a winter that wont end. All killed with a 16 gauge, 1 ounce of #8 shot. Such fun! Ted -- Edited by M12Shooter on Saturday 4...

Anyone else ready for the season to start?
(Preview)
I know the middle of summer isn't really the best time to hunt but I still wouldn't mind getting some running and gunning in! Here in Ohio the season starts back up June 1st, and I know I'm not the only one ready to get out there and bust some more birds!

If OBUMMER gets this way, this is what you will have to live with, and waiting times of up to two years for applications and variations, plus they add rules and interpret them as they please Firearms law NI. Home made crow decoys.

Has anyone tried making there own decoys? I came up with an Idea and have tested it. I think it will work great. I made some decoys out of sheets of duct tape folded to look like a crow. They are light weight. fold up, and easy to pack. Check out my idea and if any one has any other ideas or ways to improve...

First, glad I found this site as I know nothing about crow hunting and the info I gathered here in the last couple days has been great. I got an 870 with an 18inch barrel and no choke. Yep, the home defense gun. I am guessing thT crow hunting with such a barrel is a waste of time and not very effective but I fig...

Open v.s closed blinds

Last summer, before I had the foxpro, I use to hunt crows from a doghouse style blind. Having a closed top you can't get the easier over-head shots off but they come in REALLY close because they can't see you. I just unzip a couple of the windows and get'em when they're flying sideways. In the winter, h...

Which Hand Call Sounds Like A Fish Crow?
(Preview)
Hi everyone! Interesting website. I used to hunt crows back in the 1970's with a P.S. Olt crow call I bought when I was a teenager in 1965. This call sounded exactly like a fish crow, the only variety we have here in coastal Florida. The common crow, found further inland, has a much different voice than a f...
