We were at a outside buffet on a beach in Cozumel and these birds that look like an american grackle would come and eat off the tables next to us. The male was banded. These birds were I bet 18 inches in length from beak to tip of tail. I tried to catch the male and twist his head off and get the band. Too many Dos XX's I guess. The owner of the buffet ask me to leave...
Just got back from a trip to Gulf shores. I drove this time and snuck a red ryder with me that the boy has many years since out grown. They have the boat tails on the beach down there also. Not as big but easy targets at ten yards The gulls are not as tame either for a generation or two Can you imagine a 52 year old man sneakn around with a BB gun on the beach at daylight No bands on em but I dam sure spoke the language this time
