I've been tryin to post pics on here for a week, It worked one time for me and now when I hit submit post all it does is upload for hours and never puts the post up. What am I doing wrong????
I'm not sure why you're photos aren't posting but as you can see it does seem to work for others. This is speculation, but perhaps it has to do with the size of your original photos on your desktop. Some of the newer cameras will save photos in 10-12 megapixel format which can be hugh files. Maybe the upload is having problems with that. If you think your photos are very large, maybe you can try shrinking them via your photo or camera software and try again. Good Luck.
if the uploading of pics is giving you problems you may want to try photobucket again.
i know, i know, you dont know how but this new forum makes using photobucket even easier than before. trust me, if you understand how to upload photos to this site you already know how to do the photobucket thing.
the crow busters will help you thru it...
BH
PS - now go sign up for a photobucket account and upload your pics to the site. uploading your pics there works the same way as uploading them here (except hopefully it will work). when you got your pics on there check back in and we'll help you the rest of the way.
Ok I've figured out what my problem is,,,,,,,,Pics are to big. My All American 3.8 on a 4.0 Scholar Athlete college son got so frustrated trying to post them for me he just gave up. Anybody know how to make them smaller???????????????
Chip, The easiest way would be to change the settings on your camera to take normal size pictures. It seems that most digital cameras come from the factory taking huge pictures. You have to go into the setting and tone them down a little.
If that isn't an option, then any photo editing software can shrink them. Even the "Paint" program that comes on all PC's will do it. Just open the picture using Paint, or another photo editing software, and find the the tool that will resize or stretch the photo. Keep shrinking them till your file size is 100-200 kilobytes. Thats usually plenty big enough to have good photo quality on a message board, and will upload pretty quickly.
The 'zoom' feature will not work, it simply changes how big the photo looks, but doesn't change the file size.

That's what I always do...and the quality remains pretty good.
If you click once on the file, it will show you how big it is on the left side (arrow)
First right click on the file name/thumbnail pic. Hold over the "open with", then click on the Paint program when it pops up.
Then, click "Image", then "Stretch/Skew"
Next, shrink the files vertically and horizontally(use the same numbers)...the smaller the pic, the smaller the file. I usually go between 50 and 75 percent. Click "OK"
Then click "File". If you want to replace the original picture, just click "Save". If you want to keep the original and create a new file with the smaller image, click "Save As", then rename it whatever you want.
Lastly, to see how big the file is, click once on the pic and look to the left to see the image size.
As you can see, I renamed the pic "Crow 1". Shrinking the file 75% cut the file size in more than half. If you get around 1MB or less, your pics will load a lot faster.
Don't give up...once you do this to get your pics smaller, you'll have no trouble posting them.
