Yo Flashhole!
Is the chuck shooting still good in N.Y?? I used to hunt in the Cherry Valley area + we used to get some decent shooting up there,I have a springfield action/Flagg heavy barrel in 22 varminter/20 x leupold, ruger #1 with heavy barrel in25-06/36x leupold, both tack drivers. We met some good farmers and used our LABS to retrieve our kills, great off season training!!

                                                       Any and all info appreciated!!
                                                       Thanks Guys!!biggrin

I would die to have some of the old style big hay field shoots I had when I was a kid, sadley, due to farms and fields disapearing, and the eastern coyote those days are gone!! disbelief I do love huntin the yotes!! biggrin But it does not come close to setting up on a newly mowed hay field on a summer eave glassin for chucks.I get depressed when I think of it,I may have to move to Western PA.!!no

I have a lot of open farm fields around me and scout around frequently for chucks but there just aren't very many around.  When I see one I shoot it but I see a lot more chucks on the side of the road and in residential areas where you can't shoot than I see in the farm fields.  If I didn't say so earlier, I'm in Owego.  I helped a work buddy of mine get into a new Fireball this year.  He lives in northern PA and has shot quite a few within 150 yards of his deck but tells me he doesn't see them in the more open fields.
