Ok Fellas I have a chance to buy a very large quantity of this ammo that I know nothing about. I know that you guys will know and will stear me right. NSI Nobel Sportsatalia shotgun shells. I have never shot them and wonder are they any good I can get these shells cheap if I buy a large ammount. 2 3/4, 3 1/4 Dram 7.5's 1 1/8 ounce shot 1220 Fps. I usually shoot 1200 fps but figure I can surely compensate for 20 fps Anyway I hate to be stuck with junk. Most of you guys are well traveled, And I told the sellar that I was interested and would get back with him Monday. I basically was stalling until I could check with the boys who have yet to stear me wrong I can get these shells 18 bucks per case cheaper than I can buy my gun club loads which I dearly love and have total confidence in. Yea or Nay??? Should I buy em or not???? Lets hear it boys

Hi Chip, I have no personal experience with the Nobel Sport loads but I have chatted with a few fellows that have used them. One complained that they had more recoil that the Wally World Remingtons, another said they were softer on his shoulder. Recoil is subjective I've been told. If you reload, they apparently reload great. Just need to use a bigger primer than the Win-209 (like the Fiochii 616).
As for speed. You will not notice 20 fps difference. Shot them the same. The difference at 30 - 40 yards would be a few inches. Remember that your pattern at that range is somewhere around 3 feet. I defy you to adjust your lead on a flying bird at that range by a few inches. Shoot with the same lead....no headache then. I use a load that goes 1575 fps on goose, and the difference is that I go for the gooses beak with that load, with crows I put daylight in front of the beak.

Chip: I have shot several cases of Nobel shotshells and consider them acceptable for just about anything except what I consider my "first line" crow shell. I use them for clay bird practice/doves.. as they are cheaper than most. I am, however, a little confused at your load/speed. Normally, a 3 1/4 dram load with only 1 1/8oz of shot, produces speeds over 1260..even approaching 1300.
I checked one provider of Nobel, and their price was $6.86 a box. At Wal-Mart, Rem. Nitro ammo is about $8 a box. The Nobel stuff I bought, several cases in 2009 and I do not know what today's pricing is, was for $64 a case for what that is worth. And I agree with Pat B, a 20 or even 50+ fps second difference in velocity does not require any adjustment in your aim. My bet is the Nobel will perform as well as your gun club loads.
If it were me I would pick up a flat ( 10 boxes ) and go shoot them up and see how you like the way they shoot before buying a boat load of them. The last thing you want is to get stuck with something you don't like!
The El Cheapos at WalMart went up from $ 5.50 per box ( with tax ) to $ 6.18 per box.

Another thing you could do is go to a skeet & trap club and at random have someone else load you're shotgun where you can't see the ammo being used. Take you're gun club ammo and some of that new ammo and see if you can tell any difference between the two brands.

Yeah just make sure they really put a shell in and don't hand you an empty gun. As far as that goes you better not flinch or you will never hear the end of it

Thanx for the input guys,,, what this is, is an estate sale. These shells will be part of the auction. I know the auctioneer and he calls me from time to time when he has a lot of fishing and hunting stuff, He will buy the estate then hold the auction. He comes across some real good stuff now and again.. I guess this guy was a big sporting clay shooter... I cant understand why I havent seen this brand before???? All these years Ive never ran across them. I will let you know how it goes... Skip as far as the Drams and fps goes,,, the guy was telling me from what he could remember on the phone, He did not have a box in his hand. I will find out Monday cause I will go see what he has.... Good idea Bob about some one loading your shot gun and not seeing what went in it. I did that one time and got a mangum put in it lol. But i was looking for that old trick. Well Sept not to far away for crows in Kentuckey
