Went out yesterday in a great field where crows really like to be since a week

The crows were bombing the set-up!
They came from behind, did a U Turn over decoys and wre ready to land!
Amazing action between 6 am to 9 am




To much crows to shoot them all

This crow were dead 1/100 second after that picture

Yes, I'M from Quebec (Quebec city, province of Quebec, in Canada)

We dont have a lot of crows here, during the summer, there is no big groups

But, at fall, they start to gather and we can make good hunts

But, I will stop crow hunting soon ....ducks and geeses are on the way!

I think that your pics are better than most sports camera man.
What camera are you using? Last time I tried to take action pics like yours I missed all the action( seeings how I was trying to shot and be mr kodak)

I have a good, but not excellent camera

It is an Olympus E-520 with a 40-150mm lens

It is hard to stay hide and take pictures, you have to find a little hole to see the bird, but not be seen! It is easier with my gun than with the camera!

Target, your second photo with the larger flock of crows on the approach is what I'm faced with each time my caller gets pressed into action this time of the year.

I let the crows start to circle overhead before cutting into them. The mass confusion resulting above lets me get several good goes at them. Sadly for the 5 or 6 that get knocked down hundreds get an education.

That's why we never use the e-caller in the early morning. We let the crows come by themself, and later , after the sunrise, we start the e-caller...but we never let the e-caller at "ON" for a long time. Maybe 30 secs, after we stop it.....wait a few minutes, and try again
