Finally got out! (pic)

After being a lazy bum the last couple years (bought a house, got married, blah blah blah) I finally got after the crows with my dad. First thing in the morning nothing showed up so we knew the crows were coming from a distance away and would be all grouped up. Unfortunately we were right, they showed up in bunches. We passed up on the bunches and just let them fly off so we didnt educate the masses... thinking this was the right idea it ended up being the wrong idea, down the river more we heard other crow hunters blasting at them no Im sure they educated about 100 crows and maybe got 2. Everytime we heard them shoot, they emptied both their guns (assuming they only held 5). Either way, both our shooting was terrible after being out of the game for a couple years but it got better as the day went on, shoulda had about 70 but the way we shot, we're lucky to get 43.  Thats our blinde behind me in the picture, we had several crows land with the decoys and in the trees about our heads. We were both wearing headnets and gloves, they never knew we were there, several times we stood up and took aim and they still had no clue we were there.

Thanks, I was actually quite proud of that blind. Worked really good and was all natural! :) Without a good blind theres really no point in even setting decoys out.

Looks like you had a good day anyway.
Time hunting with dad is time well spent, even if nothing is bagged.
I don't consider a successful day hunting by what or how many is in the bag. Time spent being with my son, friends, relatives, enjoying the day seeing the sunrise on a misty pond, that is a good day.
