I was treated to a blustery late October sky. Directly in front me is the decoy spread and final resting place of 26 birds. The victims of 31 shots from a 117 year old shotgun(I was hittin' 'em good today).
The Mighty Ten Bore and crow #400 for the fall 2010 season, a record year for me.
Engaving is sparse on a grade 1 Parker or quality "NH" grade 10ga from 1893.
26 for 31 - you are an efficient shooter! Love the big double pictures!!
Phil
Happy Halloween to you Phil, thanks but yesterday was my best day for hit to shot ratio. The day before I felt like I could not hit the barn if I was standing inside going 9 for 24. Go figure. Overall for the year my hit to shot ratio is slightly better than 50%.
Thanks. For what it's worth here are the stats from my notes on my hunting this year thus far. I have been out hunting crows on 53 days since 8/15. I have shot 405 for 784 shots (465 rounds of 10ga for 229 crows and 319 rounds of 12ga for 176 crows).
The gun has been a blast and it's a work in process. On the to do list in the off season is to have the checkering freshened up and the barrels refinished. I gotten a great deal of enjoyment from this old short ten and have enjoyed bringing back from the near dead.
